This series was created as a catalyst for conversations exploring the dichotomy of shame and sexualisation, censorship and celebration all in relation to nudity with a focus on healthcare.
In traditional forms of figurative sculpture, we see a lot of smooth skin. ‘The ideal form’. I created this piece with some acne texture - it’s still quite subtle because in actuality that is what it looks like to other people, even when it may feel like the only thing anyone ever looks at.
